The archipelago of Bocas del Toro in Panama is on the northwest coast of Panama in the vicinity of the Laguna de Chiriqui. Bocas del Toro offers the perfect combination of charm, nature and history of Caribbean cultural traditions. Due to its variety of aquatic species, coral reefs, mangroves, rainforest, pristine beaches and undisturbed forests the main attractions are snorkeling, diving, hiking and bird watching. The main town is called Bocas del Toro and “Bocas” and is located on Isla Colon, the largest island in the archipelago.
In Bocas is colorful wooden houses and some relics (like a cannon, an anchor and an old fire truck). At night you can eat in one of the many restaurants serving international and local reggae and dance during the day you can tour one of the nearby islands, go see the dolphins play in Dolphin Bay, go swimming and sunbathing on one of the beautiful beaches of the surrounding islands (Red Frog and Slippers are two good choices).
